The purpose of a therapeutic boarding school is to change negative conduct, mold character and bring about results in your daughter that will dramatically improve her life. Unlike most other adolescent residential treatment centers, Trinity Teen Solutions (TTS) provides your family with distinctive programs based on the hope and love of God that are designed to develop specific behaviors in your daughter.
By removing your daughter from her usual surroundings and into a therapeutic boarding school that practices family systems therapy, we challenge old problematic behaviors and promote personal growth. By changing her settings, daily routines, manner of dress and relationship with God, she is able to redefine and rediscover her unique identity with emphasis upon God-given dignity, personal responsibility and right action.

Our manner of treatment for troubled teens doesn't revolve around busywork, but around tasks with integrity. Instead of spending her days crocheting potholders, your daughter will learn to make a difference in the lives of the people and animals around her… and in her own life.

Adolescent Residential Treatment Team with a Heart
It's truly the staff members at TTS that make us so unique. Each therapist and advisor is able to reach students more effectively because they live, work and deal with life's obstacles side-by-side. They become more "humanlike" to the young women. This is a key factor in helping our girls.
Your daughter will grow to see that these staff members are approachable, empathetic and honest. She will directly observe that "adolescent residential treatment" means living, eating and communicating as a team with everyone in the same environment. This facilitates a connection, which enhances genuineness between the young women and the staff. The treatment team is able to step back from their traditional roles as authority figures, allowing natural consequences to provide reinforcement and punishment of appropriate, or inappropriate, behaviors.

What a girl has to say about our Therapeutic Boarding School
My life before Trinity was an absolute mess. Anything you could think of, I was probably doing it. I know that if I had not come to Trinity when I did, I would not be alive right now. I was anorexic and had been for a long time. I started cutting in the seventh grade and by my sophomore year in high school it got much worse. I was drinking and smoking whenever I could. I was also a lesbian. Anything I could get away with, I would do. I went to a catholic all girls’ school with great teachers and environment. My family was always supportive and encouraged religion. Yet I hated everyone and everything around me. I cannot even count the times that I had either tried or thought about ending my life.
Just before I came to Trinity, my girlfriend and I were fighting, I was failing all my classes in school and I was planning to run away or kill myself. Sounds hopeless doesn’t it. That is what I thought to. My parents decided to put me in the psychiatric ward of the hospital. I spent a week there on antidepressants not really getting any better. Then my mom and dad told me about this program and I agreed to go ahead and give it a try. Before I knew it, I was here.
Little by little, the Trinity staff was able to pull me out of my shell. It was not easy but every step as been worth it.
As I look back on everything that has happened, I do not even recognize myself. I looked like I was dead and life had no real meaning for me. Now I have a light in my life and more than anything, I have hope. Trinity has given me the chance to live and move on with my life.
I have only just begun the journey here but I am looking forward to my life. Life is an exciting thing and I am happy to be alive. |
